May Day 2017 come listen to Free Radio Olympia’s relaunch in our cafe & bar!
Obsidian supports free speech and we are stoked to be hosting a live broadcast listening party of the F.R.O./Just Housing Fundraiser at the Capitol Theatre Backstage.
All Ages in the cafe // 21+ in the bar
Free Radio Olympia is an unlicensed, direct action, collective radio station and hub of community activity founded in 2001. After a six-year hiatus, F.R.O. is rising again to seize the airwaves on this year’s International Workers Day where we will be announcing our new frequency! Join us for an evening of local bands, door prizes, and fundraising for your favorite pirate radio station. In the spirit of direct action and coalition building, all proceeds from this show will be split 50/50 with Just Housing, a local, direct action, housing advocacy group currently speaking truth to power in order to address Olympia’s lack of housing for our most vulnerable neighbors. Come witness the phoenix reanimate in the spirit of the people’s voice. A live listening party will be broadcasting over the airwaves at OBSIDIAN 414 4th avenue and at www.frolympia.airtime.pro
